Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, or 5 years with advanced degree.
• Experience with data measurement or analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).
• Experience in the news publishing or media industry.
• Experience in managing projects or programs.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience working in/for the media industry or similar content-driven industry.
• Experience with public speaking and strong people management skills.
• Knowledge of technology and a strong track record of using AI tools to drive innovation.
• Ability to manage several concurrent projects with timely deliverables; excellent organizational skills.
About the job
The Global News Programs team is part of an international effort to help journalists, news publishers, and emerging news voices grow in the age of AI. We help accelerate the digital transformation of a news ecosystem through Google’s services, products, and partnerships. Our focus areas for 2027 are: Strengthen AI Skills, Enable Responsible AI, and Unlock and Amplify Audience Trends to build news organizations of the future. In this role, you will become a central figure for coordination on AI at the intersection with news publishing and Google Analytics, and have a strong working knowledge of tools which can help news publishers explore audience trends and meet their business goals. You will be familiar with News Consumer Insights—and, with limited support, be ready to advocate and showcase the tool to external partners.
You will have experience with Cloud technologies, and a solid working knowledge of Google and YouTube tools will enable you to design and deploy a scaled training curriculum, equipping publishers with the insights to succeed. You will have significant experience in connecting the audience and business tools to partners.
Working with product and partnership teams, you will share insights from the publisher community to help generate ideas to improve our tools, strengthen their performance, and identify case studies which can amplify our work across the ecosystem.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $140000 - $203000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
• Deliver on the Global News Program strategy, focusing on audience and business strategies for news publishers across the world.
• Oversee development, maintenance, and execution of News Consumer Insights, and manage budget and administrative responsibilities for this focus area, supporting the global lead to drive operations to meet business requirements.
• Execute to plan while prioritizing specific work streams based on existing resources.
• Partner with journalism organizations, associations, and individual publishers to hold joint technology training workshops.
• Bring an entrepreneurial spirit to work every day, conceiving new opportunities and avenues to help the media industry grow with Google.
