<p>You'll lead GitLab's Dedicated Infrastructure team, combining hands-on technical leadership with team development. Working with the team's Product Manager, you'll balance delivery speed and quality, guide architecture decisions, and lead the team through incidents.</p>
<p>You'll demonstrate ideas through proofs of concept, give team members meaningful feedback, and use data to make prioritization and risk decisions.</p>
<h2>What you’ll do</h2>
<ul>
<li value="1">Partner with the team's Product Manager to set clear priorities and deliver with quality and speed.</li>
<li value="2">Maintain at least 99.9% availability for Dedicated infrastructure, strengthen security, and automate operations to support more tenants at scale.</li>
<li value="3">Give your team clear direction and meaningful feedback, and build shared ownership of development and operations.</li>
<li value="4">Improve the platforms and tools your team owns so feature implementers can manage their services in production through self-service workflows.</li>
<li value="5">Recruit, onboard, and develop productive team members, supporting their growth and accountability.</li>
<li value="6">Lead by example with proofs of concept and artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted approaches. Simplify processes and automate repetitive manual work.</li>
<li value="7">Model effective incident management, lead timely resolution and escalation, and document and teach best practices across GitLab.</li>
<li value="8">Use data to prioritize work, quantify impact, and manage risk and technical debt. Explain technical trade-offs to stakeholders to support their decisions.</li>
</ul>
<h2>What you’ll bring</h2>
<ul>
<li value="1">A track record of building and owning large-scale distributed services, with the technical depth to evaluate architecture and guide technical strategy.</li>
<li value="2">Experience with fleet management, Terraform, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and automated provisioning at a scale of 20 or more clusters.</li>
<li value="3">Experience owning services with 99.99% availability service-level objectives (SLOs), and an understanding of the operational practices needed to sustain them.</li>
<li value="4">Experience using AI tools to improve team productivity, with lessons learned from both successes and missteps.</li>
<li value="5">Experience building and managing accountable, high-performing teams, including addressing underperformance and making difficult performance decisions when needed.</li>
<li value="6">The ability to lead complex projects to completion without relying on a dedicated Technical Program Manager.</li>
<li value="7">Experience leading distributed, remote teams effectively.</li>
</ul>

<p>We build and operate the large-scale distributed infrastructure for GitLab Dedicated, our hosted software as a service (SaaS) platform. Our work centers on availability, security, fleet management, and automated provisioning across tenants. We also build self-service platforms and tools that enable feature implementers to own their services in production.</p>
