Available to start 15 February 2027 for a 12 months fixed-term contract. Minimum qualifications:
• Master's degree in a Law field from a Belgian University, with a specialization (LLM) in law and new technologies, commercial law, copyright law or privacy law.
• Experience working in a law firm or legal department of a company.
• Experience in data protection, copyright, consumer law, technology, or media law.
• Ability to communicate in English, Dutch and French fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience with legal analysis and research.
• Experience in intellectual property, technology, or media law, with an interest in technology and IT-relevant legal problems and recent developments.
• Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously in a changing environment.
• Available to start 15 February 2027 for a 12 months fixed-term contract.

As a Legal Trainee, you will help to respond to legal issues of the information age. You will get an insight into a variety of legal issues at Google and YouTube, while promoting the development of internet law in an unconventional environment. In this role, you will enhance your organizational skills, attention to detail, versatility, and composure, while also getting the opportunity to demonstrate that you have sound legal judgment, can learn quickly in a changing environment, and can communicate at all levels. The Belgium/Lux Legal team is a multi-lingual expert team that manages all things legal in Belgium and Luxembourg: the law, institutions, courts, partners, Key Opinion Formers, academics, authorities, and regulators. They enable and support the launch of products/services, manage crisis and incident management, engage with local regulators, and assist our data centers.

Responsibilities
• Conduct legal research on a variety of legal topics (e.g., intellectual property, consumer regulations, media regulations, advertising law, data protection, etc.).
• Respond to various legal requests from users and third parties in relation to Google services.
• Assist the Legal team in the preparation and management of court actions.
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge databases for the Legal team. Participate in the review and drafting of agreements.
• Use internal AI tools for all of the above.
