<p><strong>About the team<br></strong>The Stripe Accounting Team is responsible for supporting all products at Stripe, consulting on accounting implications, and supporting teams' ability to make informed strategic decisions. We are responsible for the accurate and timely recording of all business-generated transactions on our balance sheet and income statement. We operate in a fast-paced environment and collaborate significantly with cross-functional and international teams.<strong><br></strong></p>
<h2><strong>What you’ll do<br></strong></h2>
<p>We are looking for an M&A/Integration Accounting leader to own cross-functional accounting integration strategy and execution. In this role, you will lead complex integration initiatives, establish policy alignment, oversee business combination accounting (including technical valuations), and serve as the accounting authority for Stripe’s strategic investment portfolio.</p>

<h3><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Serve as a controllership/oversight function over subsidiaries until they are integrated into the broader Stripe teams/systems.</li>
<li>Partner with Corporate Development, Tax, Corporate Legal, Finance & Strategy, and external service providers for diligence and integration</li>
<li>Communicate and influence unintegrated teams to align with Stripe policies, procedures, and norms</li>
<li>Be the directly responsible individual ensuring timely and accurate reporting of unintegrated subsidiaries/businesses, and strategic investments</li>
<li>Shape the evolution of our financial close and reporting programs by implementing leading practices, efficiency opportunities, and internal controls</li>
<li>Own program management of finance integration workstreams end-to-end. Build the plan, sequence dependencies, track functional commitments, surface risks early, and drive decisions to closure.</li>
<li>Scope and lead complex, cross functional projects and process improvements spanning multiple teams to find long term and scalable solutions which effectively integrate into Stripe’s systems and processes</li>
<li>Plan and perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses and analytical reviews, producing internal management reporting and external audit support</li>
<li>Research, prepare, and review technical accounting analyses</li>
<li>Use Stripe-approved AI tools (and create your own) to accelerate and improve your work. This is an immediate expectation, not an aspiration.</li>

<h3><strong>Minimum requirements</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>10+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience</li>
<li>Relevant M&A integration experience</li>
<li>B.A. or B.S degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)</li>
<li>Fluency in U.S. GAAP and ability to research complex accounting issues</li>
<li>Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey financial concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills and experience working with large data sets</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders</li>
<li>Experience with internal controls (design, implementation and execution) </li>
<li>Demonstrated history of taking on various types of challenging projects and producing results</li>
<li>Solution-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for establishing best practices</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Preferred qualifications</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>CPA or similar qualification</li>
<li>Experience at a public company</li>
<li>Payments or Tech industry experience</li>
