Job description

Responsibilities
• Tell the market’s weather stories in a way that connects with and captivates viewers.
• Develop innovative and creative ways of presenting the daily weather story, emphasizing accuracy and hyper-local forecasting.
• Produce weather graphics and analyze data from the National Weather Service and other meteorological sources.
• Knowledge of MAX reality and producing 3-D models to integrate into creative storytelling.
• Use MAX Connect and MAX Reality on the field.
• When needed, it might be required to produce weather segments for other Telemundo and NBCU stations within the station group.
• Work with the weather team and producers to create complete coverage of weather events.
• Also prepare post-forecasts for multiple news platforms.
• Constantly update the weather for the Telemundo Dallas website
• Live reporting and attendance at community and weather-related events when needed.
• Daily social media posts, especially during severe weather events.
• Science-oriented story production and execution
• Participate in the editorial meetings, be on time, and be prepared to contribute enterprise ideas to the producer team.
• Represent Telemundo Dallas in the community through events requiring the employee to MC.
• Other duties assigned by the News Director.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• Fluency in Spanish and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• 3+ years of experience as a weather presenter
• Degree in meteorology or atmospheric science
Eligibility Requirements
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years or greater.

• Must have the ability to work flexible and sometimes long hours wall-to-wall due to the nature of weather events in DFW.
• Ability to work nights and weekends for coverage of weather events.
Desired Characteristics
• Experience with severe weather coverage, including but not limited to hurricanes, tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, flooding, and winter events.
• Passion to be a part of a major weather event, no matter when it happens.
• BS degree in meteorology is preferred.
• Compelling on-air presence - crisp, clear, and confident delivery in Spanish
• Should thrive working under the intense deadline pressure of television weather.
• Technologically savvy with strong computer skills (working knowledge of WSI system and WSI 3D graphics preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills in Spanish and English.
• Strong leadership qualities and self-motivation
Additional Requirements
Required On-Site : This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
