Product Technology Manager, Shopping Partner Engineering
Job description
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in a consulting, partner engineering, or client-facing technical role.
• 6 years of experience working with client-side web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP).
• 6 years of experience coding in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
• Experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.
• Experience working with e-commerce platforms, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), webhooks, or merchant integration ecosystems.
Preferred qualifications:
• Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with APIs, webhooks, and modern programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, Java).

Our team works with retail partnerships to achieve ambitious plans to grow the value merchants and users get from Google, while ensuring high data quality. We closely collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to develop and improve Google’s products and tools. We are advocates of the customer and partner experience, advocating for features and offering product and tools improvements backed by data-motivated insights. We work on Universal Commerce Protocol, Google Business Profile and Google Merchant Center integrations, which power consumer experiences on Google Shopping and many other surfaces.
In this role, you will focus on supporting our Application Programming Interface (API) ecosystem for Shopping.
Responsibilities
• Oversee end-to-end partner integrations by delivering technical direction, architecture reviews, and essential implementation documentation.
• Provide specialized subject matter support, education, and rapid troubleshooting to resolve complex technical challenges within target Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Work on channel partner feedback to Product Management and Engineering to define, prioritize, and deploy impactful product enhancements.
• Develop custom tools and technical resources to expedite onboarding, streamline workflows, and enhance long-term product serviceability.
