Job description
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
• Experience with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in a public accounting or multinational company setting.
Preferred qualifications:
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Experience with fixed asset accounting.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and familiarity with coding languages such as SQL or Python.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and changing environment to drive complex operational initiatives.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, combined with impeccable business judgment and the ability to communicate effectively with leadership and FP&A partners.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a focus on continuous improvement.

You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.
The Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) Operations Accountant provides critical business advisory support for all matters impacting fixed asset accounting. In this role, you will advise the business on complex transactions, execute reporting cycles, and ensure compliance. In addition, you will drive system improvements and contribute to transformation projects to optimize operations and increase accuracy supporting Google's global real estate portfolio.

US: $128000 - $187000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
• Partner with business stakeholders to operationalize key transactions and initiatives while proactively identifying and mitigating financial risks.
• Lead critical month-end close activities to ensure accurate, timely reporting, delivering key financial results, commentary, and insights to finance leadership.
• Lead Construction in Progress (CIP) reviews to identify and address potential impairment risks across real estate assets.
• Own and oversee CapEx SOX processes, specifically governing CIP reviews and property purchase accounting.
• Advocate for business transformation by leading process improvement and automation initiatives, leveraging large data sets and data visualization solutions to drive operational efficiency.
