Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience with distributed systems, software architecture, or system design.
Preferred qualifications:
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.

Lavaflow is the next generation experiment data processing solution, which is scalable, efficient, and easy-to-use. It is built as a Google-wide standardized solution to make it generally available to users, and the de-facto way for users to onboard Rasta, an experiment analysis platform.
In this role, you will realize to full potential and make Agentic debuggability usable end-to-end for our clients to automate root-cause analysis and rapidly resolve production friction. You will require in-depth knowledge on how distributed systems work and connect those dots.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
Responsibilities
• Take full ownership of the AI-motivated Lavaflow debugging roadmap, evolving Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and existing workflows into production-grade agentic tools.
• Build autonomous skills, agent solutions, and deep tracing tools into the Lavaflow ecosystem.
• Collaborate directly with client teams like BARD to enable automated end-to-end issues debugging, minimizing mean time to resolve and developer friction.
