Sustainable Journeys Program Manager, Google Search
Job description
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in program or project management, partner operations or business operations within a technology environment, leading multi-disciplinary projects.
• Experience managing cross-functional software development initiatives (partnering with Product, Engineering, UX, and Business Development) from conception through global launch.
• Experience with partner integrations, managing third-party platform development, and external technical dependencies.
Preferred qualifications:
• Practical experience leveraging generative AI tools to optimize workflows, project tracking, and program execution.
• Experience in the aviation/airline industry, travel tech, or sustainability initiatives (e.g., contrail avoidance, Scope 3 emissions, carbon accounting), including familiarity with regional compliance and policy frameworks.
• Track record of driving multiple high-priority, multidisciplinary programs in parallel across distributed, global teams. Ability to operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving and collaborative environment
• Proven ability to translate complex business, technical and partner requirements and constraints into clear engineering roadmaps and project milestones.

In this role, you will partner closely with Product, Engineering and Business Development teams to drive and scale key programs within the Google Search Sustainable Journeys team.
The Sustainable Journeys team in Google Search is at a critical juncture, scaling our efforts in Contrail Avoidance, the Travel Impact Model (TIM), and broader sustainability projects within Search.
Responsibilities
• Lead the end-to-end planning, execution and global scaling of critical sustainable journeys programs, focusing on contrails avoidance, Travel Impact Model (TIM), and Search sustainability initiatives.
• Partner extensively with product, engineering, business development, and external partners to deliver projects and integrate third-party platforms.
• Translate complex requirements and technical constraints into actionable product roadmaps, clear milestones, deliverables.
• Manage multidisciplinary program lifecycles, proactively unblocking technical and operational challenges, tracking cross-functional dependencies, and mitigating risks across distributed organizations. Communicate program status, risks, strategies, and impact effectively to audiences ranging from technical teams to executive leadership.
• Drive operational excellence, process improvements, quarterly planning, budget tracking, and cross-product area collaboration while leveraging AI tools to streamline project execution, automate workflows, and accelerate delivery.
