Job description

Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in full-stack or back-end software development and system design.
• Experience with distributed data processing (e.g., BigQuery, Spark), event streaming (e.g., Kafka), and scalable communication protocols (e.g., gRPC, Protocol Buffers).
• Experience working with database technologies (e.g. SQL, NoSQL).
Preferred qualifications:
• 4 years of experience designing and optimizing databases.
• Experience working with systems for collaborative code reviews, version control, continuous integration, and automated testing.
• Ability to manage ambiguous requirements and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders (Product Managers, UX Designers, Business Leaders).
• Strong systems fundamentals with prior experience working with, or an eagerness to master, agentic AI frameworks and LLM tooling (e.g., LLMs, Agentic harnesses, Vector Embeddings, and RAG).

The Content Partnerships Systems team within Technology and Insights (T&I) is the technical engine that powers YouTube's relationships with its global creators and partners. We develop the critical infrastructure and tooling used by Strategic Partner Managers to drive channel growth, manage complex portfolios, and optimize product activations. Our systems manage the end-to-end partner lifecycle—from propensity modeling and incentive tracking to complex CRM workflows—ensuring our business teams can deliver tailored, data-driven support to the creator ecosystem.

Google's Web Solutions Engineers (WSE) develop the software-based solutions for complex business problems. We are looking for someone who is interested in automation, building scalable solutions, and demonstrating deep software engineering best practices.
As an Web Solutions Engineer on the YouTube Technology and Insights team, you will focus primarily on backend service architecture, high-throughput data pipelines, and API integrations that connect with client web applications and partner portals.
You understand the importance of code quality and test coverage. You have a strong bias towards action and a passion for providing smart, scalable solutions. Excellent communication skills are a must, as you will interact frequently and closely with our stakeholders from around the world and across different teams (Product, UX, Data Engineering and TPgM).

Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain backend service layers and APIs which integrate seamlessly with web-based client applications to deliver automated workflows and actionable insights to end-users.
• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions (Single and Multi-Agent systems with Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG); versioned prompt libraries; skills; evals) using Google’s Agent Development Kit.
• Deliver high-quality code and tests, ensuring the reliability, security, and accuracy of deployed solutions, including testing and evaluation frameworks for deterministic and model-based outputs.
• Write and review technical design documents for scalable systems. Develop project plans and deliver engineering projects on time and within budget with minimal guidance.
• Develop new approaches to solving business problems at scale, including opportunities to use rule-based and AI-based automations to eliminate operational friction and technical debt. Collaborate across time zones and act as a trusted technical representative on cross-functional projects.
